My Mother spent the last almost two years of her life at James Street. Her room was pleasant and she was happy there. The food was also very good and on occasion great (I've eaten there). All of the staff I met were pleasant, friendly and helpful. My Sister and I live far away. if we had a concern about her whereabouts, we would call the residence to see if she had signed out or if someone needed to check on her, which they did without complaint. When (not if) power outages occur, the staff walks food up even to the second and third floor to ensure the residents are fed. If a resident is not capable of going to the dining room for meals, tray service is available for a small additional cost. In the last six months of her life, her health deteriorated rapidly. James Street is not a nursing home, but the staff there went above and beyond to do what they could to take care of her. (There weren't any openings at nearby nursing homes). I regret that I did not have the opportunity to see staff members as we left for the last time to say Thank You  - John Bendixsen
